Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has tested positive for coronavirus.
He announced this in a video posted on his Twitter handle on Tuesday.
He said he had malaria and was treated and he was okay but later went for test and the result came back positive.
The governor said he was advised by one of his colleagues to go for COVID-19 test and the result came back Positive.
He said, ” I had malaria few days ago and was treated and I did get over it. As at the time our party’s NEC and colleagues called on me, I spoke with one of them who felt that malaria should not be treated lightly. He said I should go ahead and get tested for COVID-19.
“The result came out today June 30, 2020 and I tested positive but I am asymptomatic. I am not feeling sick or feeling odd in any way but my doctor advised me to take the normal treatment and self isolate.”
