Life long Manchester United fan, now player, Odion Ighalo, has finally gotten his wish to continue playing at Old Trafford for the time being, at least till January of 2021.
Ighalo signed a loan deal for the English side in January of 2020, and went on to score on 4 occasions in 8 different appearances, before the season was suspended due to the scare of the Coronavirus pandemic.
He is due back in China for the start of the new season but because of travel restrictions, brought about by the pandemic, his parent club has extended his loan at United till January 2021.
Shanghai’s original stance was that they would only agree to extend his loan if an obligation to buy was incorporated into the deal, with Ighalo likely to cost upwards of £20m.
His parent club, Shanghai Shenhua has him tied down to the club till the end of 2022, but are expected to extend the deal to 2024 at a whopping weekly salary of £400, 000.
