FG Lifts Ban on Religious Gatherings, Extend Restrictions on Inter-State Travels

The Federal Government has announced the relaxation of the ban placed on places of worship as part of measures to curtail the spread of COVID-19, saying inter-state travels is still not allowed until further notice.

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, announced this during the daily briefing of the panel on Monday.

Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to Government of the Federation, said the ban on inter-state travel is still in place, except for agricultural produce and essential services

In his address,  the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force,  Dr. Aliyu Sani, said the government has agrees that artisans who own workshops should open but must stick to the social distancing rule and use of face masks.

Dr. Aliyu stated further that while schools still remain closed, government offices can should open from 9am-2pm from Mondays-Fridays.

On the date for the return of flight operations in the country, the PTF team Coordinator said, flight will resume operations within the country from June 21st, 2020 but must adhere strictly to social distancing.
