5 People Killed, Churches Burnt In Latest Attacks in Southern Kaduna

At least 5 people have been killed and several others displaced from their homes, in another raid by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Southern part of Kaduna.

This is coming after similar attacks were carried out between May 19 and 24 in the villages of Idazau, Etissi, Bakin Kogi, Dutsen Gora, UN Gora, Pushu Kallah and Magunguna, where five persons were killed, while 78 were badly injured, with about 607 houses destroyed and 231 cows were rustled in the process.

At least 51 people are also reported missing from these attacks.

Some of the dead are Atuna Garba, Thomas Asoja and Manager Garba.

A source told reporters that they were afraid of returning to the site of the maiming to properly dispose of the remains of their loved ones, as those places were still occupied by the attackers.

Churches such as the Catholic Church in Idazau, ECWA in Etiissi, ECWA in Bakin Kogi as well as ECWA in Magunguna were also razed to the ground during the attacks.
