On Saturday, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, announced that it had finished paying N-Power beneficiaries their April stipends.
The Minister, Sadiya Umar-Farouq, said, while making the announcement that, “last week I promised that the stipends would be paid this week.”
“We encountered some delays on the GIFMIS platform but I can now announce that all N-Power beneficiaries from Batch A and B have been paid their April stipends.”
She added, “We are working hard to streamline the programme for greater efficiency and to provide opportunities for more Nigerian youths. Details will be provided as soon as May stipend has been paid.”
As of the time this report, thousands of beneficiaries are yet to receive their March stipends, not to talk of April’s.
There has been delays in the payment of stipends to N-Power beneficiaries, ever since the programme was handed over to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Constantly, the beneficiaries are assured and reassured that they would be paid on time, only for them to receive payment late or not at all.
With April stipends coming at the end of May, one wonders when May stipends would be paid.
