Nigeria Discharges Over 2000 Patients As NCDC Confirms 245 New Cases

A total of 2007 Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients have so far been discharged from isolation centres across Nigeria.

This is according to the latest figures released on Friday night by the Nigeria Centre for Disease (NCDC).

The new figures show that, with 245 new COVID-19 cases confirmed, a total of 7,261 cases have now been confirmed in 35 states including the FCT.

The index case of coronavirus was recorded in Nigeria on February 28, when the Lagos health ministry confirmed its first COVID-19 patient.

Lagos however accounts for the highest number of the newly confirmed cases with 131 confirmed cases, followed by Jigawa with 16 cases, while Ogun accounts for the third highest figure with 13 cases. While Kaduna and Oyo have 9 cases each.

Sadly, a total of 221 deaths have also been recorded in Nigeria.

Lagos, despite increasing number of cases has the highest number of recoveries.
