Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma, on Saturday disclosed that the three persons who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the state have been discharged.
According to Uzodinma, out of the six cases undergoing treatment in the state’s isolation centre, two were discharged over the weekend while the index case was discharged earlier, bringing the total to three.
A statement by his chief press secretary/media adviser, Oguwike Nwachuku, stated that all the three already discharged tested negative twice according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) regulations.
The governor revealed that the number of cases currently under treatment in the state was four, adding that, ‘there are no new cases of Covid-19 patients recorded in the state according to the NCDC’.
The statement also quoted the governor as urging the people of the state to abide by the directives already given by the government and the Covid-19 task force in Imo State on how to be safe, and reiterated his resolve to doing all within his constitutional powers to protect the lives of Imo people.
