EFCC Docks Oyo State Permanent Secretary for ₦4.4m Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has announced the arrest of the permanent secretary of Oyo State Ministry of Agriculture, Alhaji Rasak Kolawole for defrauding one Mr Ibikunle Alonge of four million, four hundred thousand Naira.

Alhaji Kolawole was today arraigned before Justice Aderonke Aderemi of the Oyo State High Court on one-count charge of obtaining money under false pretence.

This is certainly sending the message that fraud will not be condoned even under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde. According to EFCC, “The offence is against Section 1 (2) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act.”

It should be recalled that in recent days news has been rife about the son of the Head of Service of the State exposed in a ghost-worker scam. Many have been wondering about the calibre of people who are appointed within the civil service of Oyo State and will be a warning signal to the governor who has been bothered recent rumours about his appointees.
