Italian Serie A Team loses 19 year Old Rinaldi to Brain Aneurysm

Italian Serie A club side, Atalanta is reported to have lost one of their promising midfielders, Andrea Rinaldi, who suffered a brain Aneurysm, starting last Friday.

Andrea had been part of the youth system at Atalanta before going for a loan spell to Serie D side, Legnano. The 19 year old midfielder is described as one with a fighting spirit on the pitch and simple character off the pitch.

He is reported to have developed a brain aneurysm while home training during the COVID 19 lockdown. Legnano has described his death as “a sudden and shocking tragedy, impossible even to imagine”.

Legnano’s statement confirmed that the player had fought for survival while in the hospital but that there was nothing they could do to save the young midfielder.

Speaking on the shocking tragedy, Atalanta made the following statement; “Always available and positive, he knew how to make himself well-liked by everyone,” 

Italian media has reported that the midfielder died in a hospital in Verase, Italy.
