Many people have been left stupified by the admittance by Engineer Mu’azu Magaji, the erstwhile Commissioner for who inadvertently celebrated the demise of the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, that he has tested positive to COVID-19.
Alhaji Magaji announced this himself five hours ago on his Facebook page thus:
“This morning my NCDC test is out… I have been confirmed Covid-19 Positive… And have been moved to one of the state facilities…pray for us!”
Magaji, the recently sacked Kano State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, was among the most hardworking experts in Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s state cabinet. He oversaw lots of infrastructure development drive of the Ganduje administration. He was sacked last month for posting a series of updates on his social media accounts, calling the death of Kyari as a win-win situation, ‘celebrating’ the death of Abba Kyari. Through his Facebook account, he posted: “Win – win… Nigeria is free and Abba Kyari ya mutu a cikin annoba… Mutuwar Shahada in Har da Imani mutum ya cika!”. This, if translated, means that “Win – win… Nigeria is free and Abba Kyari died in a disastrous way without faith.”
Alhaji Magaji was mistaken about what caused the death of Kyari, insinuating that it was cholera. He later, apologised and asked for forgiveness from all well-wishers, “I apologize for any inconvenience, in response. We are all going through a period of stressful situations where anxiety and cheating make it difficult to differentiate and misunderstand. I regret any sorrow that I inflict on the families of the late chief of staff at the presidential palace and my boss, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.”
Many have wondered if it is nemesis catching up with the former Commissioner, while many equally wish him quick recovery.
Alhaji Magaji has since been isolated and receiving appropriate medical care.
