The herders, Sani Adamu and Abdullahi Musa both of Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, were sentenced by a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court Judge, Isaac Ajim.

Ajim was lenient with them by listening to their plea for mercy and fined them to te tune of N500, 000 each, default of which will land them a compulsory one year jail term.

The prosecution called two witnesses, one of which was a member of the State Livestock Guard, who proved without any reasonable doubt that the two men were guilty.
