265 Nigerians, who were billed to arrive the country earlier on Wednesday from Dubai, have finally arrived the country on an Emirates Airline flight.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN) Regional Manager, South West, Mrs Victoria Shin – Abah, disclosed that the aircraft arrived at 7.30 pm.
Recall that Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geofrey Onyeama had earlier disclosed that the Nigerians would arrive the country at 7pm.
The 265 passengers were the first batch of Nigerians, stranded abroad amid the Coronavirus pandemic, to have been successfully evacuated.
The evacuees are said to have been taken into isolation centre prepared by the Lagos State Government and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Onyeama had also said discussions are ongoing with British Airways to airlift 300 Nigerians from London on Friday; arrangements are also being made with Ethiopian airlines for a flight from New York to Abuja next Monday.
