A five year old boy was pulled over by Utah Highway Patrol on May 4, 2020, in his family car, while driving to California to buy a Lamborghini with only $3 in his pocket.
The boy took off with the car after arguing with his mother, who refused to by him Lamborghini. Utah Highway Patrol said on twitter.
A state trooper saw the car swerving from side to side on Interstate 15 while traveling at 30 miles per hour.
“One of our Troopers in Weber Co. initiated a traffic stop on what he thought was an impaired driver. Turns out it was this young man, age 5, somehow made his way up onto the freeway in his parents’ car. Made it from 17th and Lincoln in Ogden down to the 25th St off-ramp SB I-15”. The twitter post read.
Troopers told a local TV station, they initially thought the boy was a person driver under the influence.
“How old are you? You’re 5 years old?” Trooper Rick Morgan says in dash camera footage of the traffic stop. “Wow … Where did you learn to drive a car?”, the trooper can be heard asking the boy in the clip.
“He was sitting on the front edge of the seat so that he could reach the brake pedal to keep the car stopped while I was standing there,” the trooper said.
Once pulled over, the boy said he was travelling to California to buy a Lamborghini even though, he had only $3 on himself.
The police said no one was hurt in the incident and it will be left to the local prosecutor to decide, whether to bring charges against the parents.
