Pregnant Access Bank Employee Faints After Receiving Sack Letter

An Access Bank employee who works at their Ketu/Ikorudu branch today collapsed and fainted after she received her sack letter.

The lady, known as Taiwo happens to be amongst the lot the bank is currently laying off in its mass retrenchment program that was earlier announced as part of measures to help the bank cushion the effect of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Most companies and businesses in the western world have laid off their employees as part of measures to survive this pandemic without sustaining much losses.

Taiwo who has been sacked is three months pregnant and didn’t receive the news very well, as did many of the other Access Bank employees who also received their sack notices through email.

One of her colleagues spoke to newsmen, thus, “Her name is Taiwo. When she got the news today, she collapsed. There were two of them affected by the mass retrenchment from Ketu/Ikorodu Road branch, as of now. We will get to know more on Monday about others who were affected. The Taiwo lady is about two or three months pregnant.

“When she heard the news, she collapsed. It was friends and family around her that rushed her to the hospital.”
