Bandits Attack 3 Villages Amidst Lockdown in Katsina

Armed bandits have attacked three villages of Mabai (Kankara LGA), Banyan Kasuwa in (Dustinma LGA), and Musawa town (Musawa LGA) amidst the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in Katsina State.

Musawa and Dutsinma Local Government Areas are among the several councils under lockdown due to reported coronavirus cases.

In the attack that took place in Musawa town, a housewife, identified as Hadiza Sale, alongside her two children were abducted. The children were later released by the bandits who escaped with her.

At about midnight of Wednesday, gunmen attacked Mabai village, killing one Sada Musa while Karibu Mohamed was hit by a stray bullet.

Four days ago, the bandits also attacked a neighbouring Katsalle village with unconfirmed sources saying two persons were killed in the process.
