Benue Evacuates 59 Almajiris To Bauchi, Katsina States

The Benue State government on Thursday deported 59 Almajiris, who sneaked into the state a few days ago, to their states of origin.

17 of the Almajiris were said to be from Bauchi origin while 42 Almajiris were of Katsina State origin.

Benue State Deputy Governor, Benson Abounu alongside the action Committee on Coronavirus (COVID-19) supervised the evacuation process.

Recall that few days ago, the Almajiris were sneaked into Makurdi, the capital at night, and upon an alarm raised by residents of the state, the COVID 19 Committee under the leadership of Abounu swung into action and identified them, leading to their subsequent repatriation Thursday morning.

Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state Bemgba Iortyom, accompanied the Almajiris to the Agan toll gate where he bade them farewell to their various States (Bauchi and Katsina State), with security men accompanying them.
