The perpetrator, identified as Mr. Sule, who is now said to be on the run, shot and killed the victim while trying to extort N5, 000 bribe from him.

It was gathered that the late driver, known as Idowu, was returning from Ibadan when Sule and his crew stopped him before they shot him in the chest for resisting their request for a bribe.

Sule is currently on the run together with his family, sources have said. However, another source said that late Mr. Idowu, while trying to evade police on the main road, made his way through the bush before he met his end at the hands of Sule.

The deceased who is survived by three months old son, wife and an aged mother, has since been deposited at the General Hospital, Ilorin morgue after a complaint was lodged with the police by the family of the deceased.
