Appeal Court Affirms Wada as the 2019 PDP Governorship Candidate in Kogi

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had on Tuesday, affirmed Engineer Musa Wada, as the authentic candidate for Kogi state PDP gubernatorial primary elections held on September 3rd, 2019.

Those who contested in the primary election with Wada were former lawmaker representing Kogi west in the Senate, Dino Melaye, the son of a former Governor of the state, Abubakar Ibrahim amongst many other candidates.

The primary election witnessed a pocket of violence, which later produced Musa Wada as the PDP flagbearer that battled Governor Yahaya Bello of APC on November 16th 2019.

Wada lost to Bello during the November 16th election that was categorised by violence and death of innocent citizens.

The former governor’s Son, Abubakar Ibrahim, who was not pleased with the outcome of the primary election took Wada to court, demanded the primary election should be canceled.

On Tuesday, April 21 2020, the appeal court declared Wada as the authentic Candidate of the Primary election conducted under the auspice of PDP.

Wada is already in court, challenging the outcome of the November 16th, 2019 governorship election, that returned Governor Yahaya Bello back to power for a second term of office.
