We’ll Ensure Niger Is Among Best States In Terms Of Infrastructural Development- Gov

The Chief of Staff to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, Ibrahim Balarabe Kagara, on Monday announced the resolution of the Infrastructure Committee, its plans, and strategies to resume construction works in the state.

Kagara noted that Governor Bello is keen to see and ensure that the state becomes one of the best states in the country in terms of Infrastructural, Cultural, and social Development.

Kagara stated this when he Chaired monday’s meeting of the Infrastructure Committee, which had in attendance other top officials of the government.

During the meeting, the committee discussed, inter alia, the issue of construction workers returning to the site, Health and safety guidelines that should be issued to construction workers and completion of the ongoing projects.

A statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Muawiyyah Yusuf Muye, said the following resolution was issued by the committee;

i. Construction workers should be issued a permit to ease their movement to sites during the lockdown period.

ii. Health/Safety guidelines should be issued to all contractors by the Hon. Commissioner for Health and these must be adhered strictly to while carrying out their jobs.

iii. Furthermore, emergency numbers will be made available to the contractors to call in case of emergencies”

The committee has reached the above resolution on the return of construction workers back to the site and has informed all stakeholders concerned.
