Nigeria May Loose Gernot Rohr to Rivals

The ongoing contractual dispute between Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr and the Nigerian Football Federation NFF seems to be attracting the interests of rival football associations on the continent.

A highly placed source revealed that two Francophone countries are waiting in the wings to poach the widely travelled Coach from the claws of the Super Eagles should the ongoing contractual negotiations fell through. One of those countries is Mali, Nigerian West African neighbor. Another country Football Association presidential candidate has promised to contract the German, should he win the election.

“Rohr is an experienced coach who has travelled wide in Africa. He knows the continent and he knows the people. People want such a coach to negotiate tough qualification matches in Africa”. The source added.

The German has been in charged of the Super eagles since 2016. He had 2 year extension in 2018 and his current term is set to expire next month.

He qualified Nigeria for the 2018 world cup and also reached the semi finals of the African Cup of Nations in Egypt, where the Eagles emerged second run up.
