In a measure to cushion the effect of the 14 days lockdown in the state, the Adamawa State government on Monday, donated the sum of 20 million naira to tricycle (Keke Napep) operators in the state.
The donation, according to Ahmadu Fintiri was to appreciate the operators for the role they played overtime in the transport.
A statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said the governor thanked everyone in the state and all stakeholders who contributed morally and monetarily to ensure that the combined fight against the Coronavirus pandemic was achieved.
Fintiri also noted that the government, through donations from well meaning Nigerians and the banking sector, has been enabled to provide food items for distribution to the vulnerable across the 21 Local Government Areas(LGAs) of the state.
“The outpouring solidarity and support sparked by this shared challenge has been phenomenal,” he said.
He urged residents to keep complying with the public health advisory on Coronavirus, while pledging to judiciously use every funds received for the betterment of the people.
