Three Prisoners Test Postive for COVID-19 in Georgia

Three prisoners at Lee State Prison in Leesburg, Georgia have tested positive for COVID-19. The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC), disclosed that the three inmates were hospitalized on Sunday and tested positive on Monday after showing symptoms to the virus.

CNN reported that the spread of the COVID-19 into the correctional centre has raised concerns that the virus would spread to other correctional centres nationwide.

GDC stated that the entire inmates at the affected centre would be screened to ascertain their statuses and quarantined to avoid further spread of the virus.
