Bauchi Governor in Self Isolation after Shaking Hands with Atiku's Son

The governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has gone into self isolation after, after he met and shook hands with Mohammed Atiku Abubakar, who on Sunday, tested positive of the Coronavirus disease.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the governor, Muktar M. Gidado, said the governor had met Mohammed Atiku, on an Aero Contractors Aircraft in Lagos, upon his return from an International trip, where they shook hands and exchanged pleasantries.

The statement revealed further that even though the governor has not exhibited any symptoms of the virus, he has already gone into self isolation, in compliance with the directive from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

“Currently, the blood sample of the Governor had been taken and is currently undergoing clinical test. For the period of clinical testing, the governor and his entourage will remain in isolation pending the outcome of the clinical result.”

Meanwhile, all engagements involving the governor have been cancelled, until he is declared free from the virus.
