American Country Music legend, Kenny Rogers has passed on. He was aged 81.
According to a family relative, he “passed away peacefully at home from natural causes”.
Amongst his many hits, ‘Gambler’, and ‘Coward of the County’ were the ones Nigerians knew most.
Rogers was married five times and had five children.
During his long and illustrious career that spanned more than 3 decades, he won three Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013 and, that same year, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Country Music Association.
In their statement his family said he “left an indelible mark on the history of American music”.
