The Central Bank of Nigeria had on Wednesday, announced that it will inject N1.1tn as intervention fund to support critical sectors of the economy.
This was contained in a statement by the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.
According to the CBN governor, out of the N1.1tn, about N1tn would be used to support the local manufacturing sector as well as boost import substitution.
The statement added further that the balance of N100bn would be used to support the Health Authorities to ensure laboratories, researchers and innovators work with global scientists to patent and produce vaccines and test kits in Nigeria.
The move, according to the Apex Bank governoris necessary saying, the N100bn to be injected in the Health sector, will go a long way in tackling the coronavirus pandemic.
