The exiled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has said the actualization of Biafra would happen in his lifetime.
The charismatic figure made this known in an audio broadcast disseminated to the media in Owerri, Imo state.
He lampooned Igbos, who are agitating for a south-eastern presidency in 2023 to abandon the idea, as what the region actually needed was the actualization of a sovereign state of Biafra.
“Those asking for Igbo presidency are wasting their time. We don’t need your presidency, what we need is Biafra.” Kanu said.
Kanu also mocked the efforts of south east governors to flout a vigilante force similar to Amotekun of the south west without his organization IPOB.
“We are the largest movement in the world. The governors from South East cannot form the security outfit without IPBO. We are just keeping quiet to see if they can form it without IPOB and we know they cannot”. He boasted.
He wondered why people were clamouring for a vigilante outfit for the region, when the governors of the zone had supported the proscription of his organization by the federal government.
Mr. Kanu concluded that efforts are being made to curb the incessant attacks of the nomadic herdsmen.
