The Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) Task Force on illegal tax activity has arrested one Donald Iorember for collecting tax under false pretext.

The task force who arrested the culprit this afternoon at about 12:30pm at Suswam Plaza, in Wadata while issuing fake revenue receipts for Registration/Renewal of business premises.

The suspect was caught collecting funds in the name of a terminated consultant Messrs Termer Investment Nig. LTD.

He has since been handed over to the police for further investigations.

Meanwhile the Executive Chairman, Mr. Andrew Ayabam has reiterated that the Board had earlier terminated all tax consultancy and has not re-engaged anyone.

He further advised that all tax payers should insist on paying tax through Point of Sales (POS), or designated receiving accounts domiciled in all commercial banks in the state.
