Juventus has announced that defender, Danielle Rugani, has tested positive to the epidemic viral disease.Rugani is the first player in the top flight or first division of Italian football to be positive to the rampaging Covid-19.The number of infections in Italy rose again on Wednesday to 12, 462, a day after the World Health Organisation declared the disease a pandemic. So far, about 827 people have died in Italy as the outbreak continues to spread, making Italy the second worst hit nation after China.In a club statement released on the club’s website, Rugani is said to have been isolated together with other players who have made contact with the player. Although they maintained, the player is not showing symptoms of the viral infection.The Italian Football Association has already suspended all sporting activities in the country till further notice, and other leagues too have followed suit.The English FA, announced that it would also start playing its games behind closed doors as Governments across the globe scramble to contain the pandemic.
