The traditional ruler of Loko, Nasarawa state, where Emir Sanusi stayed a night before moving to Awe, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sabo has said that the deposed Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II told him that he will not challenge his dethronement in court.
He also said, the former Emir has contacted the new Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero congratulating him on his ascension of the throne.
Additionally, the Emir of Loko said the deposed told him that he has accepted his destiny and will not challenge his dethronement in court and further advised that, they (Traditional) rulers should be careful in their relationship with politicians.
Loko traditional ruler who gave insight into the reasons the deposed Emir was relocated from Loko to Awe after one night said, the former Emir is too big to stay in a place like Loko, which he said lacks social amenities to make his stay comfortable.
According to him, Emir (Sanusi) is too big for place like this. “What I mean is that, Emir Sanusi is a high ranking personality. He is supposed to be under air conditioner, but we don’t have electricity to give him that.
“We received him very well but with mix feelings. We were sad because of what happened to him but when your fellow human being is in this kind of situation, you are expected to be with him in that situation too. But we were happy that our village came to limelight.”
Asked whether he observed any bad feeling in Emir Sanusi, the Village Head said He (Sanusi) was not disturbed at all and that he slept very well.
“He was not disturbed at all, in fact he slept very well. He accepted his destiny and even said that he will not challenge his dethronement in court. He also called the people to support the new Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero. In fact, he sent text message congratulating the new Emir and the new Emir replied him.”
Asked whether the Emir had any regret in his actions which were suspected to have brought about his dethronement, Sarki Sabo said, Emir Sanusi does not have any regret because he said he did not commit any offence.
