The president of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday administered the oath of office on Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, to make her the new head of the Civil Service of Nigeria.
In an event held at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja, the president swore her in as the Head of Service. In attendance were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and cabinet Ministers.
The retirement of former Head of Service, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita was on Friday confirmed by the president, while also announcing Dr. Folasade as the successor.
The Permanent Secretary of the Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr. Olusegun Adekunle said the appointment will take effect on the 28th of March, 2020.
Before her appointment, Dr. Yemi-Esan was the Acting Head of the Civil Service Commission, a position she assumed since 18th September, 2019.
