Armed men laid siege to Kujemi village in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara on Sunday night.

Muhammad Shehu, who is the Police spokesperson said in a statement that the the bandits attacked the community on Sunday night, at around 8:40PM, leaving the village head and one other man dead.

Shehu added that a combined team of policemen and military personnel attached to Operation Puff Adder quickly mobilised on learning of the invasion and went after the assailants.

The police command appealed for continued support from members of the public through useful information on activities of criminal elements.
