Chinese, 39 other Nigerians Quarantined in Plateau for Coronavirus

In order to contain the outbreak of Coronavirus in Plateau State, 4 Chinese, 43 Nigerians are currently being quarantined in Bakin Kaya village of Wase Local Government Area of the State.

This disclosure was made on Sunday in Jos by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nimkong Ndam, during a press briefing.

According to the commissioner, there are no symptoms of the virus detected in those quarantined in the state, but the measure was taken to prevent any potential outbreak.

It could be recalled that there were news reports on Saturday, on how 4 Chinese citizens were quarantined in Wase LGA of the state in an attempt to halt the spread of the disease, after the first case of the disease in the country was recorded for the first time in Lagos.

The commissioner added that the 39 Nigerians quarantined alongside the Chinese citizens are those working together with them at a mining site and their compound, stating that in-depth medical checks were ongoing.

He however called on the people in the state not to be panic as strong measures had been taken to handle any potential outbreak of the virus in the state.
