CAN Sets Aside January 21 As Annual Day of Prayer

The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria declared 21st January to be the annual day of prayer for Nigeria.

The Christian body said it became necessary to set aside a day because the mayhem being caused by activities of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram is on the rise.
About the choice of 21st, they said they arrived at that day because it was the day
CAN Chairman of Michika Local Government of Adamawa State, Rev. Lawan Andimi, and other victims of Boko Haram  and herdsmen attacks were killed.

The CAN Chairman, Rev. Ayokunle said in a statement, “The decision was taken on February 21  at the  just-concluded meeting of the National Executive Committee at its National Secretariat in Abuja where they also confirmed Joseph Daramola as the substantive General Secretary and Biodun Sanyaolu as the Assistant General Secretary of CAN.”
