The Nigerian football governing body, the NFF has come out to silence rumours making the rounds that former Super Eagles player, and coach has been made the new technical director of the apex body.
The NFF has maintained that they have not declared the post vacant and that Bitrus Bewarang was still the holder of the office of the technical director.
They advised the public to disregard such claims. NFF’s Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, stated “While the NFF does not and will not foreclose the possibility of a major role for Amokachi in the federation in the future, the truth is that presently, such an appointment has not been made.”
News of his appointment surfaced on social media last week with the explayer even celebrating it on his Instagram handle. However, Mr. Olajire enjoined the public not to believe everything they see on social media and should always seek to confirm any news before sharing.
Amokachi was made technical director of Finish side, JC Hercules in 2017.
