Plateau United tops NPFL table as Lobi Stars Lose in Bauchi

Plateau United are back at top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table after a 2-0 win over Dakkada at the weekend in Jos.

Goals by Tosin Omoyele and Oche Ochowechi were enough to take the Plateau boys to 36 points from 20 games.

Meanwhile, Lobi Stars dropped to the second spot after they were thrashed by 4-0 by Wikki Tourists of Bauchi at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.

Two goals each by Manu Garba and Idris Guda, moved Wikki up to 12th spot on the NPFL standings.

The only away win of the win came in Enugu, where Akwa United defeated Enugu Rangers.

Kano Pillars pipped MFM 1-0 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, with Usman Babalolo scoring the only goal of the game.

Rivers United cemented the third spot in the table following a 1-1 draw at Kwara United.

In Nnewi, hosts FC Ifeanyi Ubah recovered from a goal down to beat Sunshine Stars 3-1 while Warri Wolves defeated Katsina United 2-0 at the Warri City Stadium.

Nasarawa United boosted their survival hopes following a 1-0 win over Jigawa Golden Stars in Lafia.
