Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Sen. George Akume has reaffirmed his loyalty and allegiance to the Tiv Tor and Tiv Area Traditional Council (TATC).
He equally promised to support and render his cooperation to Tor Tiv in the best interest and for the peaceful coexistence of the good people of Benue State.
The Minister made the pledge during a wedding ceremony of Prince Fanen Ayatse, son of Tor Tiv V, Prof. James Ayatse.
It would be recalled that there was widespread rumour of Akume’s frosty relationship with the Tor Tiv and the TATC where it was alleged amongst other things that the Minister had rained insults on the Paramount ruler of the Tiv nation at an unnamed occasion.
Many groups, including the PDP caucus at the National Assembly led by Sen. Aba Moro stood up to condemn the Minister for the “unruly and uncivilized” behaviour.
Akume who represented President Muhammadu Buhari at the occasion also demonstrated his loyal by leading his entourage to kneel and pay homage to the HRM where he was sited at the occasion.
