The Bayelsa State division of the Nigerian Police today imposed a mandatory three days curfew to checkmate the rising violence in the state.
This has become necessary because since the recent Supreme Court judgement, some disgruntled citizens have been protesting and causing unrest, the Commissioner of Police, Uche Anozia said. He added that the curfew will take effect today Friday 14th till Sunday 16th, and will begin 8am-6am daily.
The police commissioner also added that 8 people have so far been arrested in connection to the violent acts being perpetrated in different parts of the state.
He urged the people to comply to the terms of the curfew.
