Jelani Maraj has been sentenced to 25 years to life for the repeated rape of his former stepdaughter. He was convicted in 2017 for the rapes which occurred occurred 2015 while the 11 year old’s mother was at work.

At the sentencing, the judge minced no words as he reprimanded him for his predatory assault of the minor, “you ruined this child. You raped her over and over” he said.

In a bid to lessen his brother’s jail term, his super star sister Nicki Minaj In a letter dated 2016 and read by his attorney said, “he is the most patient, gentle, genuine, giving selfless man I know”.

In his statement before the court, Maraj apologized to the girl and her family and hinted he had an alcohol problem while not explicitly admitting his guilt. He is expected to appeal his sentence.
